why???

the kids have been taking swimming lessons since april. we have to walk through the ladies locker room to get to the pool. most of the time i am the one who takes the kids. i do not let my son change in the men's locker room since the officer isn't there.

so... he has to go with me. this isn't too big of a deal. other mothers take their sons in the ladies locker room for the same reason. when someone is changing, i ask my son to keep his eyes on the floor and he obliges.

however, there is an older lady usually in the locker room. when i say older, i mean in her 60s or lower 70s. she take a water aerobics class the same time and in the same pool as my kids. they finish about the same time.

she is not modest at all! sometimes she is still in the pool when the kids are finished and i hurry like a mad woman trying to get my kids showered and dressed before she comes into the locker room.

i have tried to dress on the other side of the locker room. i have thought she was finished dressing only to see her come out of the shower- stark naked of course. i guess i am pretty modest, but i kind of think it's just polite when you are buck naked and changing clothes to not face people.

it's not just that changing clothes facing people, but changing her clothes is the last thing she does. she sit on the bench (with no towel underneath) and brushes her hair, puts lotion and deodorant on, and fans herself. then she gets dressed. would it be rude to buy her a nice terry cloth robe?

this is what i have observed in last 4 1/2 months of swim lessons. maybe it's what goes on in all locker rooms. i have no idea. so the race continues to get in and out of the locker room before older naked lady comes in.

that is soooo weird, i hope that isn't normal locker room behavior!

You MUST ask Jamin to tell you about all the old men in the locker room at the YMCA. They have NO shame. I guess when you get that old your just like "eh, who cares!"
