10 confessions

my cousin, julie, tagged me in her last post. i need blog material so here goes.

ok, so I guess this is one of those "tagged" things. The rules are that I list ten absolutely true statements about myself and then tag ten other bloggers that I find worthy (hopefully I have ten I can tag if not I'll tag as many as I can, and all are worthy...)

So here goes: The truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth so help me God:

1. i go to wal-mart at least twice (maybe three times) a week. i know many people abhor wal-mart. my sister tries not to go at all. i admit, i like it. you can get just about everything there at a decent price. if i forget something, i don't fret because i know i will go back there later in the week when i find out something else i need. it's a bad time for me right now - there are school supplies. enough said.

2. i wish i could cook. of course, i make all kinds of jokes about this, but i do really wish i could cook. i am a below average cook - meaning i can get by but i don't know how nutritious, healthy or good for you it is. my kids and the officer are still alive so that's why as say i'm not bad. i don't even want to be a rachel ray or bobby flay (that's for you niece "a"), i just would love to have a good basic knowledge about cooking. i have thought about taking some kind of simple class, but ....
found this flair on fb and it made me giggle.

3. i have a hard time paying full-price for anything. i know i can get it cheaper elsewhere. i know there is a deal or bargain waiting for me. with the exception of groceries, i will go back and forth and back and forth about buying something at full-price. i drive myself crazy sometime. i will take something back (as long as i haven't used it), if i see it cheaper somewhere else. which in the long run i've spent the money i've saved using the gas it takes me to take the item back. there's a flip-side to this. when i see a great bargain, i have a hard time passing it up. maybe i don't need that hot pink tortilla warmer for .75 cents, but surely at some point i will use it or know someone who wants it.

4. i love the smell of fabric softener. for a long time i couldn't bring myself to purchase this because i thought it was a frivolous item - one we as a one-income house could do with out. however, about 6 months ago i saw a HUGE bottle of snuggle fabric softener on clearance (see #3) at sams for $5. i bought it. i used it. i became addicted to it. now that i am not currently working, i may have to stop using the fabric softener again. i just love the smell of warm, fresh towels out of the dryer. it really does make the folding the laundry more enjoyable. i haven't gone so far as to use dryer sheets yet. i will have to get a part-time job for that.

5. i would love to take a photography class. i think it is something i would really love to do. i love taking pictures, capturing a special moment or memory. being able to look back onto pictures and recall everything that happened when it was taken is so great. i don't have the time now to pursue a photography class. i am looking into getting a better camera. we just have the kodak easyshare 5 megapixel. it's been great for what we have used it for; however, i am interested in moving up. i have inquired about cameras to several other photography lovers. still keeping my eye out for what i want, without really know what i want or what i need.

6. most of the time, i often feel like i do most things average. anyone else ever feel like that? i can catch myself thinking, i wish i was:

a better wife
a better mother
a better cook (see #2)
a better teacher. i see other homeschool mothers who have so much more together than i do.
a better friend.
a better daughter
a better sister
a better aunt
a better sunday school member
a better neighbor
a better scrapbooker
a better housekeeper
a better driver (that's just for the officer) :)
a better scripture memorizer
a better worker
a better blogger
a better.... - you fill in the blank and i'm sure i've thought it.

now i know everyone thinks these things at time. for some reason i have been thinking a lot of things a lot of the time lately. maybe i stretch myself too thin (too bad this is not literally), and then can only do things average.

7. i also wish i had a closer relationship with God. i know can be remedied. i know how it can be remedied. i have a feeling no matter how close i feel to God i would still wish to be closer. however, i have never (since my decision in high school) questioned or doubted my relationship with God. i know God is my Savior (Luke 2:11)
, my Alpha and Omega (Revelation 1:8), my Deliverer (Romans 11:26), my Redeemer (Isaiah 59:20), and my Rock (1Corinthians 10:4), my Advocate (1 John 2:1), my Hope (1Timothy 1:1), my Lord of Lords (Revelation 17:14; 19:16), my Truth (John 14:6), my Judge (Acts 10:42), and my Cornerstone (Ephesians 2:20).

8. i wish this freakin' grey hair would go away - enough said. (wait - i am going to make it go away this weekend. guess i should be thankful there are ways to make it appear to be gone - if only for 4-6 weeks. thanks loreal!)

9. i love reading other people's blogs. it's very strange to write a blog. some people say, "i could never do that. i could never put all that stuff out there for just anyone to read. i wouldn't know what to write about. no one wants to read about me and my family." i love to read everything - from mundane, every day things to deep, life changing things. just getting a glimpse of what goes on in other people's lives. isn't that voyeurism?

10. my wallet is about to fall apart. it's a constanza wallet. really the coin purse section of the wallet is about to become unattached from the wallet. why is my wallet so fat? it's not because of credit cards though, because i don't carry anything other than gas card. i think it could be due to the amount of coupons (see #3 again). i currently have:

a .99 cent coupon for an iced coffee at dunkin donuts.
a coupon for free cheese bread on my next purchase at papa murphys (also have the papa murphy's pal card which is good for $2 off a large pizza).
my mcdonald mccafe card which is good for a free iced coffee on next visit.
a coupon for a free entree at panda expressway
2 - 40% off coupons at hobby lobby good until october
a coupon for a free arby's roast beef sandwich.
a coupon for a free small original schlotsky sandwich.
3 - free rt. 44 drink at sonic on next visit
10% off my next purchase at old navy
a coupon for $10 off my next purchase of $50 at old navy
2 - $1 off an item at unpluggits
2 - sonic community first value cards
a coupon for $3.99 off the next hair cut at great clips.
had two bath & body works coupons that are expired - i always have a b & bw coupon.
one amc movie pass
one michaels gift card
**update** today is tuesday, 2 days past my original post and i have received a $10 any $10 purchase at kohls and a $10 off any $10 purchase from famous footwear. don't these merchants know my wallet is about to fall apart?

then there's the club memberships:
library cards (not a club but we are there a lot)
lego - of course
my town's quarterback club
the korean house restaurant (for kimbobs)
movie watcher club
papa murphy's club
hastings movies
education supply store club
cvs extracare card
hallmark gold crown club card
all of these which will send me coupons for free stuff when i use their stuff in the mail so that i could put it into my wallet with the other coupons.
and that's why my wallet is about to fall apart!

there's 10 things and here are people i'm tagging. however, i also don't know 10 people to tag who blog.

1. my mom
2. lori
3. shirley
4. julie b.
5. crystal
6. jill (make a blog already!) :)
7. kristen
8. becky
9. jamin
10. mistie (another who needs a blog because all her fb notes are hilarious!)

There you go. You know WAY more about me than you should. Now go and confess something yourself.
