lego candy molds

i made some lego candy for my son's birthday party. it was very easy. i purchased some make-n-mold yellow candy wafers from hobby lobby (using my 40% off coupon). i had already purchased the lego ice tray from the lego store. after my week of furiously making lego ice for the birthday party, it was fun to so something else with the ice tray.

i just melted the candy wafers in a microwave safe bowl for 30 seconds at a time. the candy melted very easily. i spooned the vanilla flavored candy into the mold to the top. after i filled all the slots, i tapped the tray on the table for about one minute to get all the air bubbles out.

once all the air bubbles were out, i put the tray in the freezer for about 15 minutes. after 15 minutes, i was able to pop the candies easily from the tray. this picture is very dark but you get the idea.

yellow was the only color they had at hobby lobby when i purchased the candy. when i was pouring the candy into the mold, my daughter said, "are you making lego cheese?" several people thought it looked like cheese. they were tasty and a hit with all the kids.
