my mother's day present

i really, really like my cell phone. it's a nokia 3100. nokias are the only phones i've ever had. the officer has had several phone. he had the ever popular razor (back when they were popular) and hated it. i didn't like it either. i like mine.

my phone's old. it's battered and bruised but i love it. i think i've had it at least 3 years, possibly 4 - which makes it practically ancient in cell phone terms. it's not a flip-phone because flip phones just make me have to do one more thing with my hands to answer the phone.

several times my husband has asked me about getting a new phone, but i have resisted. my phone has a feature on it. i don't know if other phone's have this but none of the officer's phones have had it. it's a voice recorder. the officer's phones have had voice recorders but his phone wouldn't let the recordings be applied as a ring tone the phone.

every so often i change my ring tone. not to sweet home alabama or the latest, popular song. my last several ring tones have been my son quoting the pledge of allegiance or my daughter singing he's got the whole world in he hands (yes - i meant to say "in he hands" because that's how she sings it.). maybe it's annoying and pretentious for me to put my kids talking/singing as my ring tone, but oh well.

my phone has been trying to die on me for several month. i needed a new battery. charging does not always help. it turns off without me knowing and then i notice 3 missed calls from the officer. yikes! well for mother's day, the officer got me a new battery for my cell phone at batteries plus. YEAH!!! now i can continue to hear my personal ring tones.

the current ring tone is of my son imitating the star wars and darth vader theme songs. when you listen to it make sure you "pause" the playlist music at the bottom of my blog. i love how my son's voice cracks in the middle. can you hear it?
