1) the first thing your daughter says to you in the morning (at 6 a.m.) is: "how do your eyeballs stay in your eyes?
2) you open your freezer and your son has put his han solo action figure in cup to freeze him like they do in the empire strikes back?
3) your kids go through a whole box of band-aids in a 3 days?
4) you find more toys in your purse than items that actually belong to you?
5) you see sandy footprints leading from the back door to the kid's bedroom on the carpet you just vacuumed?6) you roll over in bed and find a child asleep right - and i mean right - beside you?
7) when your kids have dragged out every single toy out of their bedroom during "rest-time"?
8) when your daughter uses a whole bottle of your bath & body works body wash just to make bubbles? (if that didn't just make you shudder, i don't know what will).
9) when your daughter changes her clothes no less than 6 times a day (literally)? no wonder i have so much laundry.
10) you just sit down to write this post and one of your kids yells "mama" when they are in the bathroom, or needs help putting a dress on a polly pocket, or wants you to look at their awesome robot they just built with toys and duct tape?
don't you just love it when.......
1) grandma is sick and your kids decide to make a "get well" picture to send to her without you even asking them too?
2) your daughter gives you her one of her special yo-yos so everyone can have one?
3) you son write "i heart mom" on your bathroom mirror? we leave a dry erase marker by the mirror so the officer and i can write notes back and forth to each other and the kids have picked it up.
4) you hear your older child reading a book to your younger child?
5) your son opens the door for you and your daughter and know you some of the manners you have been tirelessly teaching have stuck?
6) your children say "thank you for making dinner"?
7) your son appreciates bath & body works too - meaning he loves good smelling stuff?
8) your daughter randomly gives you a kiss and tells you she loves you?
9) your kids still grab for your hand to hold (this is one of the things i will miss most when they stop)?
10) your kids have that very honest time - when they first wake up or right before they go to sleep - and you can lay there and talk to them about all different kinds of stuff? they are unguarded, not trying to impress anyone, do not get easily embarrassed, and just want to talk to you about different/random things. you can get know your child a lot during this time.
i know when the first 10 things happen i don't always appreciate them for what they are - just those wonderful things that happen when you have kids. things you would miss if they didn't happen. things that make your life a little more exciting.
the last 10 things are things that make the first 10 all worth it. well - it's ALL worth it, but you know what i mean. you can take the first 10 all week long when you get one of the last 10 in the end.
i got this verse from my cousin, julie's blog and i loved it.
Psalms 127:3,4
Don't you see that children are God's best?
the fruit of the womb his generous legacy?
Like a warrior's fistful of arrows
are the children of a vigorous youth.
Oh, how blessed are you parents,
with your quivers full of children!

There are so many things I *love* about this post. It is just so sweet, and I couldn't agree more.
Why in the world do they make those Polly Pocket clothes so hard to change??? I can barely do it, so no wonder the girls need help doing it! ;~)
LOVE the verse... so much!
Great list! I could make up a complete list myself! :) The Hans Solo in the freezer is my favorite! Still laughing about that!
Thank you so much for sharing that. I can relate with most of those, especially the daughter and her hourly wardrobe, and the kids in my sleeping space. You're right, we can take 100 of the first list just for 1 of the last list.
That scripture is beautiful!
Great post!
Love it! Love my kids. Thank God EVERY day that he has given us our little treasures. Even when they do track mud all over the carpet, it is TOTALLY worth it!
