I was in funkville as late as yesterday. I wanted to make sure I said thank you to those friends of mine who said they would pray for me. It is nice to know that I'm not the only one who gets weary sometimes. Thank you for letting me know I'm not alone in this world.
I feel better today. I'm pretty sure one of the main reasons was the officer and I were able to talk last night. You know how it is. You get busy going here and there and just find yourself saying hello and goodbye. The officer has been working a lot and things are not going to be slowing down any time in the next two months.
However, last night when he got home from work, we were able to catch up with each other without kids interrupting, phone ringing, or any other distractions. I think we talked until about 12:30 a.m. (of course he didn't get home until 10 p.m.) It was so nice to just reconnect and be able to do more than just touch base. I felt much better after that.
Tonight my daughter had her first soccer scrimmage. It's a good idea to for the kids to get an idea of how a game would actually go. Most of the kids have played before. My daughter was very excited to wear her new uniform. Their team are the Sharks. Here she is in her new uniform. Cute huh?She had a great time. It's three on three soccer so she has a little bit of time to rest during the game. She scored one goal. I didn't get to see it because we had a sticker (the prickly kind) situation. I did get some scrimmage pictures.
This next picture kind of freaked me out when I was looking through my camera. Every once in a while I'll find a picture that gives me a glimpse of what my kids could look like when they become teenagers. It's usually just an expression on their face or a certain pose. This was that kind of picture for me.
The teams had to do the whole "good game, good game" thing. It was funny to watch them do this. Brings back memories of tee-ball (only one season for me) games. I'm sure my daughter had no idea what he wanted them to do.
And last but not least. I got a vacuum tonight. I cannot express my excitement. Now let explain that I know real joy does not come from my vacuum cleaner. Getting a new vacuum is not even the same stratosphere as my kids having a close, personal relationship with God. But can I say, I was so excited to get a vacuum. We had a budget of under $100 and a friend recommended a Bissel Helix.
Here's a picture of the Bissel and my dirty floor. I actually picked this spot because it had less gras. My floors have not been vacuumed in FOUR days and it was seriously getting to me.I assembled the vacuum. Yep, even used a phillips screwdriver and everything. I had a huge smile on my face while I vacuumed the front room. The other exciting thing is the cord to the vacuum is a little longer than on our old one. Maybe not a big deal to you, but I used to have to unplug the vacuum and move it to get the last two feet of our hallway. I don't have to do that anymore! So without further adieu, here's a picture of my nicely vacuumed front room.
It's the small things like a picked up, just vacuumed front room that can put a smile on my face.

Very cute! Yay for the goal!!!
I can so RELATE to your absolute delight about the vacuum! I LOVE to vacuum .. I just do! Like you said, my house doesn't feel completely clean if I can't vacuum. The dog hair and grass would be taking over sister!
So glad that you had time to really talk together with your husband. I bet that did make all the difference! :)
