Today I can feel myself going into a funk. I think I have been sliding into it for at least the last week.
Is it strange I think that not being able to vacuum my floors has contributed to my funk? I think I have mentioned before that we have maroon carpet. You can see it here. The maroon carpet is throughout our entire house. It has it's pros and cons. The pro is that it doesn't show stains quite as bad as a light colored carpet would. The con, and it's a big con, is that it shows every single piece of dead grass we track in. So I vacuum almost every single day (except for the days the kids have to do it). Well... our vacuum broke last week.
I have yet to purchase another one. Still trying to decide which new vacuum to purchase. I need to decide quick though because the grass, paper, and sand on my floor is DRIVING ME CRAZY! Even if my house is totally picked up/clean, the floors not being vacuumed makes it not clean. I have to get a vacuum by this weekend!
Other than that I also feel bogged down. Bogged down with going here and there. Bogged down with homeschooling (although it's been going surprisingly well this past week). Bogged down with the every day things. Bogged down all the small projects I would like to do, but don't quite have the time to do. Bogged down by having to do the same thing over and over. So I feel myself sliding in the funk of where I really don't want to do anything? Ever feel like that? I'm so there. Don't want to go out. Don't want to clean my house. Don't want to try to connect with people. Don't want to coupon - that's how I know it's "the funk" instead of just needing a quick break. :)
Life still goes on though doesn't it.
Yesterday we went to my great aunt's house who died last year. My mom is in the process of cleaning out her house. My daughter had asked my mom if she could have a clock. My daughter said she thought the clock didn't work. She's never seen a wind up clock before. We had to explain it to her. I hear the ticking of the clock all the time now. My son asked my mom if he could buy a bookshelf. He has $6 in his spending box. He worked to earn a couple more dollars and now he owns a bookshelf.
Last night my son went to his cub scout meeting. They learned to whittle. This is what he whittled. Can you tell what it is? It's a goldfish. It kind of looks like one of the little goldfish crackers. He whittled a Pac-man for his sister today. Of course there are soap slivers all over the kitchen floor. He wanted me to take a picture of the knife he used to whittle the goldfish.
I need to get off here and pick up the house, not that it's going to make me feel much better because there's grass on my floor. Anyone want to come vacuum my floors for me? No? No takers?? :) That's okay. It will motivate me to get my new vacuum.

Love how proud he is of his work!
Hope you get out of the funk. I was stuck in one badly a while ago and ugh. Not a fun place to be. I prescribe The Go Fish Guys. Getting down with the kids. hehe. I have an older Dyson if you want to come test drive/borrow it. Only thing I don't like about it is that it's too tall to fit under some furniture I really think it should fit under!
Well I'm mayor of funkville right now!
Sorry, but I'm almost glad that i'm not the only one living in a funk. :)
I'm so sorry!! I've been in quite the "funk" myself lately ... Wonder what's up with that? Hopefully the nicer weather and getting a new vacuum will help. :) Praying for you!
