Perfect Provision

As I have said many times before on my blog, we are a one income family. I stay at home and do not work so I can homeschool our two children. Wouldn't give this up.

We are so blessed the officer has a job he loves. We are also blessed because the officer has opportunities to earn extra money. God's perfect provision in so many ways.

Last November, we decided to purchase a new car. My old car had a lot wrong with it. The officer did not feel it was dependable anymore. We also would have to pour a lot of money into a car that was 11 years old and had over 180,000 miles on it and we just did not want to do that.

The officer had researched online for over 6 months on what kind of car would be best. During those months, there were times we thought we had found the right car. However, things would fall through for one reason or another and we would end up not purchasing it. Several days after my Nissan's water pump and front wheel bearing went out, we found the perfect car. It was right in our price range. It had about 15,000 less miles than all the other cars we looked at before. Lastly, it was a newer model and had some of the bells and whistles the officer was excited about. I would have driven my old Nissan until it died, but it is very nice to have new to us car.

God's perfect provision.

About a week after we purchased my new car, we got rid of my old car. Two hours after my old Nissan drove out of the driveway, the officer's ABS (anti-brake system) light came on in his car. Although you could drive the car, it was not really recommended without the ABS working. We turned off the ABS and hoped there would be no bad weather.

The officer called around to several mechanics and asked how much it would be to repair the ABS. The lowest quote we received was $1,400. OUCH! Okay, it was drive-able but only by the officer. Some might say a $1,400 car repair quote doesn't seem like God's perfect provision, but I choose to see it as that light didn't come on until God provided us with a new, good car.

God's perfect provision.

The officer started working very, very hard to earn the extra money to repair the ABS in his car. About two weeks ago (a little over two month after the ABS light came on) and right as we were getting to where we had the money to repair it, the officer was doing some perusing on the internet. He came across a website that talked about Cameros that had ABS problems.
The officer said he wasn't even looking for ways to fix the ABS system. He just stumbled upon the website. Basically, in a nutshell through further research, the officer found out we could send in the computer system and have the module that was broken fixed. The only con was the officer's car would be out of commission for a week or so.

The officer sent in the computer system (I am almost certain that none of the mechanical terms I am using are correct) to ABSfixers. The part came in yesterday. The officer took off half a day today to put the computer system back in the car. Viola. It's fixed. All for $164.

See?

God's perfect provision.

At the end of the year some amazing, generous and very special people gifted us with money to pay off the officer's car so we would only have one car payment.

God's perfect provision.

If you aren't amazing by all that has happened in the past three months to us, I don't know what would convince you that God has had his hand of protection (although I'd broken down several time this past year in my old Nissan, the kids and I were never in danger), his perfect timing (everything came just when we needed it), and his perfect provision (God used other people to bless us and help us out when we needed it) just when we needed it.

This verse reminds me of the officer.
Titus 3:14
And let our own learn to apply themselves to good deeds, so that they may be able to meet necessary demands whenever the occasion may require and not be living idle and uncultivated and unfruitful lives.

And this verse remind me of how God knows what we need, when we need it.

Philippians 4:19
And my God will liberally supply your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

I'm so thankful to God for providing me with a husband who is good with his hands, who works diligently for his family and who knows who all the glory goes to.

God's perfect provision.

That's awesome! We have been in situations like that where only God could have made things happen the way they did. Thanks for sharing!

Wow! That truly is a testament of God's love and provision. I love the verses that you shared, too. You guys are such a special family ... I'm so happy that God worked your car 'stuff' out so perfectly!
