summer movie fun!

Today has been a good day. We went to a local theater to watch a movie. I went with Mrs. C and her two boys and Mrs. J and her two boys. A local theater has a summer program called Summer Movie Fun. It's a great program. The theater shows 10 kid's movies over the summer. You can pay either $2 per movie per person or $5 to see all ten movies on a specific day of the week. We won't be seeing all the movies, but there are couple we'd like to take the kids to. My kids do not get to go to the movie theater very often, so this is always fun for us. You can also purchase a kid's snack pack consisting of popcorn, a drink and a package of fruit snack for $4.50.

Today's movie was Clifford, the Really Big Movie. We met up with Mrs. C and Mrs. J. Snacks were purchased and seats were chosen.

This was the first time for some of our movie-goers. The seats and the volume level of the audio had to be gotten used to.

Everyone did great in the movie. The snacks were a hit, of course. The movie was pretty good. I think all the kids enjoyed it.

After the movie, the officer and Mrs. C's husband met us at Sonic for lunch. I think most of the kids were still pretty full from the snacks at the movie. The officer walked us over to the Downtown Police Station to give us a tour.

The kids liked the tour, but the main hit was the police car they were allowed to sit in. The officer told the kids what everything did in the car. He was telling one of the little boys about the guard that is between the front and back seat. He said, "That's there so when the bad guys try to spit on us it won't get on us." Well.... that little boy decided pretty much right then and there that he wasn't going to be a policeman because he didn't want to get spit upon.

We walked back over to our cars and let the kids watch the water fountain that sprayed up and down. It amused them for while.

It was a great morning. One of the best parts, although my kids probably wouldn't agree, we got back in time to do our chores and all of school! :)

Thanks Mrs. C and Mrs. J for going with us.
