today is cow appreciation day at chick-fil-a. if you dressed up as a cow, you would get a free combo meal. apparently there were levels of dress. i think if you just put black dots on your shirt you may have gotten a chicken sandwich or another entree. we tried to do a little more. since my kids and i are fans of chick-fil-a, we decided to make some costumes and try to get a free lunch.
my son got very nervous while he was making his costume. he wanted to everything just right. we got our black/white outfits, complete with dots, black noses, black shoes, and black tails on. my son even made a "eat mor chikin" sign to wear.
after having the neighbor take a picture of us, we headed to chick-fil-a. there were a lot of people there and only about 1/4 of them were dressed as cows. we walked up to the counter and they said, "you guys are dressed enough that each of you will get a free combo meal." there wasn't even a table to sit at when we got our food. we had to wait a minute or two, but we got a table without any trouble.
my daughter brought her chick-fil-a cow that she got when she went on the daddy/daughter date night at chick-fil-a last october.
we enjoyed our free lunch and the kids played for a few minutes in the play area. the chick-fil-a cows made their rounds inside the restaurant. the kids didn't want their pictures taken with the cow at first, but the cow was being very funny so they changed their mind.
of course we had to take a picture by the firecow since daddy is a policeman.
...then we went to homeland to get the free stuff this week and back home to do school. :) good day.
thanks chick-fil-a.
