do you remember i told you about our garden box? well.... we have exactly no idea what we are doing. we ended up taking out some of the things we planted because they were floundering. however, a couple of things were flourishing! our zucchini was taking over the whole garden box. the officer took out some of the zucchini plants because they were so big, but he left a couple. we ate some for the first time the other night. they were yummy! here's a picture of one the zucchini. oh mind you - i have had nothing to do with them and that's probably why they made it.
the other thing that we planted that did great were the sunflowers. each of the kids planted about them of them. we have been waiting and waiting for them to open up because they had grown taller and taller. however, the other day two of them fully bloomed. 
can you see her behind it? they wanted to take a picture with them since the flowers were so much taller than them.

I have LOTS of things you can do with zucchini. I just bought some today to add to Kung Pao Chicken next week. Too bad, I could have snagged some from your garden! If you want some recipes, let me know. Also don't forget fried zucchini with ranch dressing, YUM!
