this is just to make you smile!
today was such nice weather. it was supposed to be in the high 80s again so i thought i would let the kids swim. they are still young enough to enjoy the big kiddie pool with the slide you can purchase from wal-mart. in addition, we have a smaller kiddie pool i also fill up. the smaller pool is the "no splashing" zone. the big pool is tied to the fence. the smaller pool is in the shed.
i helped the kids get into their swimsuits. i put on their sunscreen. i told them to get some toys they wanted to take outside while i got the little pool out of the shed. the little pool is wired to the back wall of the shed. i get into the shed climbing over the bale of hay and other usual shed items, when i hear a slam and it suddenly goes dark.
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
i climb back over all the shed stuff to get to the door and try to open it.
it's locked.
when the wind blew the door shut, the latch caught. hmmmm.... my kids are inside the house - will they hear me if i yell????
nothing else to do but yell.
"SONNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HELLLLLOOOOOO????"
no answer.
"SOOOOOOOOONNNNNN!!!!!!!"
no answer.
"SOOOOOOONNNNNNNNN!!!!!!"
i hear the back door open.
"mom???"
"son, i am in the shed!!!! the wind blew the door shut and the latch caught! can you open the latch?"
"how?" he asked.
"just push it up." i replied.
he did it. he saved me. i was only in there minutes. what a good son!
did it make you smile - because it made THE OFFICER smile when i told him!
**update** the officer just informed me there is a rope on the inside to lift the latch - should someone get stuck in there again. good to know.

Ha ha....so funny! I am glad that they heard you....that could have been terrible. Did they get to swim?
yep the kids got to swim. at some point they got a little cold but were so excited to be swimming they didn't really care.
I'm so going to buy you one of those magnets of a guy locked in a box yelling "help! help! someone get me outta here!"
