everything including the laundry basket

we have this thing we always do in the house. the kids always love to weigh themselves (they are the only ones). anyway, since my son was born early he has always been on the small side. whenever we have gone to the well-child doctor visits and they do the weight/height chart thing, well he's always been off the chart (meaning below) or in the lower 25%. this hasn't really concerned the doctor because he has always gained weight and grown but he he just stayed on the lower end of the chart. my daughter is always at least 50% or higher in her weight and height. even though she is two years younger than my son, she is usually two lbs. smaller and 2 inches shorter than him. inevitably when i am out with the kids, someone always asks if they are twins.

so my kids like to weigh themselves. my son is waiting for the day when he hits 40 lbs and stays there. right now he fluctuates between 38 and 40. whenever my daughter weighs herself she is 2 lbs. behind him.

this morning when he went to weigh himself, he ran out of the bathroom exclaiming, "Mommy, I'M 42 POUNDS!!!!" i thought, "wow, it must be because he just ate breakfast, water retention, or maybe he's finally made it past 40 lbs. permanently.

NOPE.

he said, "do you know how i weighed 42 lbs?"

"No, is it because you just ate breakfast?", i said.

"No mommy, it's because i was holding the laundry basket!", he said.

good thing i did the laundry yesterday (it's not all put up yet though, anyone want to come fold it and put it away for me?)

That is great! My kids get the scale out and all weigh and try to guess each other's weight. I stay out of it. They still don't know how much I weigh - even though they really want to know!
