a wheelchair for lilly

my daughter had received a doll for her birthday. the officer gave it to her. it looks like an american girl doll, but it's not. it's called our generation (from target) and i think they are every bit as cute as the american girl dolls. the officer had gotten my daughter a horse and the girl, lilly, who rides the horse.

lilly came with a riding outfit. she has a blue blazer, off-white pants, white shirt, black helmet, and black riding boots that lace up the back. she is very cute. my daughter was very excited about getting the doll and the horse. when she got home from her birthday party, she excitedly opened her doll. she wanted to take the boots off lilly and put on a red dress. as she was tugging the boot off, without unlacing the boots, she pulled the lilly's leg right out of it's socket. yep, the first day she had her special doll, she broke it's leg. the leg doesn't come completely off because it's held on by a plastic piece. does anyone know if these dolls can be fixed?

for a while, she didn't really play with lilly because of her broken leg. she thought the leg might come all the way off. however, the other night she was looking at her american girl catalog and informed me she was saving her allowance so she could purchase the wheelchair for lilly. yes, american girl sells wheelchairs and crutches. they have such cute stuff in that catalog. there was a moment when my daughter almost decided to save her money for some tennis shoe roller skates for her doll instead, but ultimately decided it's best for her to get better in the wheelchair before she can skate.

so.... she claims she is saving for a wheelchair for her doll. this is probably until she see a slinky at the dollar store, but her intentions are good. :)

this is where her brother comes in. my son asked to see a picture of the wheelchair. i didn't know why he wanted to see it again. i thought he had looked at it with us the other day. after my daughter showed him the picture, she told me brother was going to make her a wheelchair for
lilly out of tinker toys. very sweet. i hope it turns out. if it does i will come back and post a picture of it on this post. i have a picture. my son couldn't figure out how to do the wheels so he just made a chair.

these are the things that have consumed my kids the past couple of days.

This is such a sweet and cute story Treasure! BTW, Thomas uses up our Scotch tape also. He likes to hang his pictures up on his bedroom walls.
