sponge bombs

we made sponge bombs today. i found this homemade craft in the family fun magazine. it was cheap, very easy and provided a couple of hours entertainment outside.

you need 3 sponges for each bomb and one foot of string (this is too long but it doesn't matter).

i bought a package of 6 sponges at target for about $2.36. take the sponges out of the package and cut them longways into 5 pieces. after you have all your pieces cut, you should have 15 pieces.

stack them on top of each other 3 high and 5 across. you can stack them however you want them.

once they are stacked, tie a piece of string around the middle - pull very tightly and double or triple knot and trim excess string.

you're finished. we took them outside and filled a bucket up with water to soak them down. the kids played with these outside for a couple of hours.

OMG those are so cool. I am definately going to have to make some of those to play with in the pool.
