okay - it's here. we have been waiting anxiously for months in this house for it! it's the lego store!!!!
i heard it was coming on lego.com. we checked and checked the website. it was coming to a local mall. this is not a mall we frequent much so we were unaware they had opened their doors. my sister went to the mall a couple of days ago and i asked her if the lego store even had a sign out yet. she said, "IT'S OPEN!!!"
oh my...
my son would be very excited - i was very excited. i think legos are a great toy. you can get lost in them for hours. you can make a fantastic model and then tear it up and use your imagination over and over.
i told my son i had a surprise for him. i was taking him somewhere exciting. he guessed where we were going - we were on the same wavelength.
here's our trip in pictures to the store this morning.
first we had to check out the star wars sections. it's right in the front as you walk into the store. we also had to see the death star lego set. this is what my son ultimately would like to purchase. i don't think he will ever get it though because it costs $400!!
everything in the store is lego. there are little lego keychains. my kids are building lego characters. you can build 3 characters for $9.99. you can pick a hat or hair, head, chest, legs, and accessory.
in the back of the store they have the "pick a brick" section. you can get a large cup ($14.99) or small cup ($7.99) and fill it with any of the lego pieces along the back wall. that's what all the circles are full 0f - lego pieces.
my son said he is raising his hands because "he's so excited!" he said, "now i LOVE this mall!"

I am SO glad you posted about this! We are driving by that tomorrow, and will have to make a stop!
We filled a cup of legos at the store near Disney World. I think they said you can bring your cup back for a refill--not free, of course!
Your kids are hilarious!
