Tae Kwon Do Girl

My daughter stopped gymnastics last week. The officer wanted her to start tae kwon do. Yesterday was her first day.

She was nervous. The day started out with an early morning class with her brother, the black belt. They were in the front room doing punches, roundhouse kicks and blocks. He was doing a very good job of instructing. Whenever my daughter doesn't know something, she becomes very shy and silly. That makes my son frustrated. So I wasn't sure how this was going to go. My son knows the probability of him teaching his sister in class is high and he can't get frustrated then, so he's working on instructing her without getting frustrated at home. It's win/win. :)

When my son received his black belt last year, he received a new ghee. My daughter is wearing his old one. It fits her perfectly. She looks so cute with white belt!

As we were driving to tae kwon do, she told me she was very nervous. I am not sure what she thought was going to happen. She has sat and watched her brother in class for four and a half years. Some of her nervousness melted away when they started class. Her brother asked if he could stand by her to help her. Since my daughter is the newest in class and a white belt she is very last in line.

She had a good time. Her favorite part was kicking the pads.

She came out of class with pink cheeks and a big smile on her face. She loved it. Who knows maybe in about three years we may have two black belts in our family.
