just what i needed

a while ago my kids came in and said, "mommy, you need an egg cracker!"

"what's an egg cracker?" i asked.

they said, "OH MOM!! it does all kinds of neat things. it cracks the egg without getting shells in the food. and you can crack it to separate the yellow from the white and there's no mess!"

they thought this thing was amazing. see for yourself!



i am not sure what the lady is doing at the beginning of the video. she's slamming the eggs around like she's the incredible hulk (got that off a comment on you tube). i see why she needs the ez cracker.

anyway, i was wondering why my kids just suddenly came up to me and told me i needed this. did one of their friend's mom have and they found out that way?

my kids used to watch pbs kids in the morning. they loved curious george (who doesn't) and sid the science kid. however, since they show the same episode at least twice a week, they got bored. they watched 3-2-1 penguin on qubo at their aunt's house and asked if they could start watching it.

well as you know pbs kids does not have any commercials. i had just assumed qubo didn't either. wrong. it apparently runs commercials like the ez cracker and for pillow pets (cute huggable pets that pop open into a full size pillow).



i watched 3-2-1 penguin to see the commercials. when the commercial for cash for gold came on, my son informed me that i could just send it in the mail and they would even send me a pre-paid envelope to mail it! neato! this is why we are so careful of what we let the kids watch. most of these commercial (actually all commercials) try to convince you that what God had provided you is not enough. it places the seed of discontentment in our hearts and mind. not that the ez cracker isn't neat. :)
