eat the sand!!!!!!!

we've been a little crazy in our house today. the officer and i both had plans. the officer was going to run funeral escorts and i was going to go to a playdate with two of my cousins that i don't get to see very often. that all was cancelled because of crazy oklahoma weather! we had flash floods all this morning. last i heard 5 people had to be rescued from trees and such.

inside this house, it has been a little crazy too. i don't know why. it's like we've been couped up in this house for two weeks without leaving. there were times of irritation, uncontrollable laughter, and yes, even tears (none from me - today anyway). my house has stayed reasonably intact though.

we watched hot lead and cold feet.

the kids have love it. it's about twin brothers, one a missionary and the other a gun slinger, in a race to win their father's fortune. it's pretty funny.

my kids - they've been making me laugh.

i was playing with my daughter and i think i told her something completely silly. can't remember it now. she believed me and i told her that she was very gullible.

she asked me what gullible meant. i told her it meant she believed things easily but at the same time she said, "does it mean very, very cute???"

no, no it does but she is.

my son and the officer were sitting at the table playing checkers on his iphone.

my son exclaimed, "GET READY TO EAT SOME SAND!"

the officer and i were wondering what he meant.

my son said, "WAIT! is it eat some dirt????" you could see his mind trying to grasp the phrase.

then he said "OH! it's BITE THE DUST!"
