on the island this week

oh blog friends - it's been a crazy week! it's been a very good week though. even though i have posted a couple of times in the past couple of weeks it seems as if i haven't been on here at all.

these are the adventures on the island this past week:

well i already posted that we got up early tuesday morning to go eat free grand slams at denny's. that was a lot of fun to do with the kids. the officer didn't really think i was going to make up it and around to get there by 6 a.m., but i did.

for wednesday the officer had arranged for the kids to go to grandma and papa's for the day and to stay the night. we had the whole day to spend together. it was really nice. we ate lunch at the olive garden and went shopping - just the leisurely shopping - not the "kids stop running up the aisles, please put that back, no we don't need that." it was nice - did i say that already? well it was!

thursday the officer went to work and then after work went to grandma's for dinner and picked up the kids. this left me by myself the whole day - which was great. i put on a coupon seminar thursday night for about 7 people. i used the day to run those final errands and to finish cleaning the house.

the coupon seminar was a lot of fun! i think the girls had fun too. there was a lot of information to cover and it as 10 p.m. by the time we were done. i think they walked away knowing more than when they came - everyone was armed with a door prize (i really enjoy winning door prizes so i had to have some to give away!).

friday we had a open-house homeschool group meeting. a local weatherman, rick mitchell, came and spoke about the weather and safety precautions. after the homeschool meeting, we headed back up to grandma's because we had family in visiting. we played with cousins and had fun.

today we headed to swim lessons and the officer and i have a valentine's dinner to go to tonight. looking forward to another date night with the officer. i think two date nights (even if we are with other people) in one week might be unprecedented.

i am putting on another coupon seminar next week so i hope it goes as well as the first one did. we have gymnastics, cub scout meetings, taekwon do, coupon seminars, babysitting (which my kids LOVE!), tax appointments, house cleaning (mine and another) monster truck rallys, and some little way of trying to find michael buble tickets going on next week too. oh yes we also have school we have to try to make up from being super busy this week. at least i get a date with the officer tonight.

i'm not complaining - we are so blessed!!!!
