i'm still here

i've not forgotten about you. i have several things to blog about but i've been busy. as we all have i'm sure this holiday season.

we had the biggest snow storm hit our town in a long time and it grounded quite a few people for christmas. this meant that christmases were delayed, rescheduled or cancelled all together. we have been busy playing catch up.

i've also been couponing. this has taken up a large portion of free time. when it's the end of the month, there are always coupons you have to go through. i'm not your regular small purse-sized accordion file coupon holder. oh no. i'm that crazy lady that was in front you at target, walgreens or cvs with 100 coupons that tested your patience.
i apologize now if you were behind me. i try to wait until most people have gone through, but someone inevitably sneaks up on me. i'm that crazy lady that carries around a two inch three binder with over 600 coupons in it. yeah i'm her. i went shopping with my sister-in-law and mother-in-law. my sister-in-law said she was going to laugh at me and she did. i have more training to do with her. i'm also that lady that has gotten so much free stuff and really cheap stuff, i can't give it away fast enough. if you know someone who has a need for some personal care items (shampoo, deodorant, body wash, otc medicines) let me know. half the fun in getting all the free things is giving it away.

although we have been busy, we have also slowed down here a little. no gymnastics, ta kwon do, swimming lessons or cub scouts for a couple of weeks. we have had a lot of time to hang out together and be with our family. it's been very, very nice. i love hanging out with them.

things next week are going to get back to normal. all classes and lessons (extracurricular) start back up next week. school starts back up. i had every intention to start this week, but we didn't do it. we have dentist and doctor appointments. the kids are excited to go to the dentist but not excited about going to the doctor. my son LOVES going to the dentist. i have assured him he is not going to be getting shots this year at the doctors, but he doesn't quite believe me. we won't be doing the flu shot (any of them) this year. we start back our homeschool group next week too. however, they are going on a field trip to watch birds and if it is 30 degrees outside, we will be skipping that. what else?????

we found out a friend of ours will possibly have to be deployed again for a period of time in about a year or so. we sent him several care packages last time he was gone and i'm looking forward to stockpiling some stuff to send him this year. don't forget about all the soldier who are away from their families. if you can adopt one and send them something. if they are far away from home, they won't care who is sending them care packages just as long as they are receiving something from "back home".

i think that's about all for right now. i made most of the laundry pile disappear last night but there's a lingering load that needs to be put away. the officer is wiped out today because he had to work until 3 a.m. last night. the motor officers often have to work downtown during new year's eve to direct traffic and have extra hands on duty when all the bars let out. we are having a little "quiet time" in the house right now, which is the only reason i am getting this done.

i hope you've had a great holiday. i hope you are refreshed and ready to get back to normal. we are ready here.

I am right there with ya on the field trip... When I saw that the HIGH for the day was only going to be 29, I knew that we wouldn't be going. That is TOO cold and we have had some smalls colds around here, and I just don't want anyone getting really sick.

That and I am just a wimp when it comes to cold weather these days!! :)

Miss you, though!
