Guess what I'm doing. I am sitting here waiting on my hair color to finish doing whatever it's doing. You didn't expect a more exciting answer than that did you? The title of this post is "nothing much."
It is the day before my 3-9 birthday. It's has been a very good day so far. The officer was able to come home a little early. On his way home, he picked up some Korean food. Oh. My. Goodness! It was so good.
He brought home chicken fried rice, beef bulgogi, bean sprouts, and kimbobs. LOVE IT! He came home around 2 p.m. The kids had finished eating lunch and I was just about to sit down to eat my lunch. As soon as he walked in, we pounced on the Korean food. Even though my daughter had finished her food, she ate some fried rice, 6 kimbobs, beef bulgogi, and bean sprouts. Bean sprouts have become me and my daughter's new favorite thing to eat. The officer and my son had some fried rice and bulgogi. There was just enough left for everyone to have a little bit for dinner.
I ran to Target to get some frosting for my red velvet cupcakes I was going to make. We have a tradition in our house. We don't buy birthday cakes, well for birthday parties we do, but on our actual birthdays we always have cupcakes. My daughter wanted to spend her allowance so she went to Target with me. She bought some Hello Kitty fake fingernails and fingernail stickers. She wanted to be like her cousin, A. As soon as we got home, she put the fake fingernails on one hand. They didn't last the evening. Oh well.
After polishing off the rest of the Korean food for dinner, we watched a little Andy Griffith. We thoroughly enjoy that show. After dinner we had ice cream. I didn't make the cupcakes yet because our house was 79 degrees inside and I didn't feel like using the oven for 45 minutes to heat the house up more. The kids went to bed after dinner.
I had the whole evening planned. I got the kid's church clothes ready. I make some brownies for the 4th. I made the red velvet cupcakes. We will eat them tomorrow morning (kind of the same as eating a bran muffin right?). Well, who cares, it's my actual birthday tomorrow and I can have red velvet cupcakes for breakfast if I want. :)
So I made brownies, cupcakes and mini-cupcakes. I ran out of the regular size cupcake liners and only had mini-cupcake liners. I may take the mini cupcakes to Sunday School for my snack. Or I may not.
I needed to color my hair tonight and I even enlisted the officer to help me. I need someone to help with the back portion of my hair. I have to say it was pretty sweet of him to don the too tight latex gloves and suffer through the smell of the hair color to help me out. This is what I have to do when I don't have Mrs. C to help me out. I will be waiting for my son to tell me my hair smells like "dead rat" in the morning. Or maybe he won't say it because it's my birthday. He probably will.
So that's it. That's what I'm doing tonight. May not sound like a lot of fun, but it's been a nice, relaxing, perfect evening. If you're in my Sunday School class in the morning (Mrs. Becky), don't mind the "dead rat" smell. It's just my hair and it will only last through tomorrow. I hope.
